St. Kilda Penguin Colony Endangered

Environmentalists are outraged over an Australian channel-deepening project. The dreging will force St. Kilda’s little penguins to travel farther to find food.. potentially starving the chicks in their nests. Although the penguins at Phillip Island will be monitored for the project, monitoring of the colony at St. Kilda has not been set as a priority. A large portion of the St. Kilda penguins food source could be completely destroyed.
