Penguin Parade at Phillip Island

August 23rd, 2008 by The Penguin Lover

Phillip Island Nature Parks is an island adventure about 90 minutes from Melbourne in Australia. Each night at sunset, the Little Penguins, the smallest of the penguins, emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows. This “attraction” is the winner of the Victorian Tourism Awards for Ecotourism.

Read more about the nature parks and the penguin parade at the Phillips Island website.

Baby Penguin introduced today at the LPZ

August 1st, 2008 by The Penguin Lover

I just read that today at the Lincoln Park Zoo, in Chicago, a rockhopper penguin chick made its debut. Can you say, Aweeeeeeeee!

Now the Penguin House at LPZ is a must on my list, it looks like a fabulous locale… if only I had my own jet!

Thanks to the Chicagoist for twittering!

Penguin Diner

June 27th, 2008 by The Penguin Lover

Have you ever been to Penguin Diner? I just read about it. If I lived closer, I’d waddle on over right now, it looks so scrumptious!

Penguin Diner is a located in Bethany Beach, Delaware and (according to this penguin article by The Daily Times) their most popular item is the French Toast - Ohhhh delightfully yummy.

I love the surfing penguin on their website too - kauabunga - dude!

So if you’re near by, stop and grab a bite — and then let me know how it was.

Have you seen a penguin with a giraffe?

June 24th, 2008 by The Penguin Lover

I just did. Every time I have seen penguins, they are by themselves and usually in some kind of a bird only exhibit or even all alone in their own exhibit. I went to Omaha last month and saw the Black-footed penguins living in the same exhibit as the giraffes. It was amazing and weird all at once!

How cool is that?!

And by the way, if you have a chance to visit,  the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska… do it! The penguin exhibits are fantastic!
