The Penguin Girl
I saw Happy Feet when it first came out, but I just now saw this video with Actor Robin Williams talking about his part in the penguin movie.
Thank you for sharing the love Robin!

The Penguin Girl
Just when you might have thought penguins were great right now… apparently they’ve been great for hundreds of thousands… er, millions of years. Thank goodness for that!
A giant penguin fossil was found. This lead to all kinds of great discoveres and insights… where did penguins originally live and what weather did they thrive in?
You can read of this penguin fossil story at the Sydney Morning Herald.

I looks somewhat like a combination of a penguin and a pelican… what do you think?
Thanks for the reminder of thisĀ penguin news from Magni about this story. The story was originally published mid-June 2008, but after reading Magni’s post I realized I said nothing and should share the big beaked fun.

I found a blog post written by a man I know nothing about, but I already like him. He’s taken some great photos of penguins at the zoo and shared them for the world to see.

Thank you John for sharing your thoughts and dreams and penguins! I’m so glad to have found another penguin enthusiast.
Check out John’s blog to see more penguin photos

Nils Olav, a penguin in the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland, was knighted August 15th, 2008. He is the third king penguin to carry the name since the original mascot was named in 1972.

Now you may call him Sir Nils.
More about the penguin knighting ceremony can be read at the Winnipeg Free Press.

The Penguin Girl
A month or so ago Gus and Waldo stopped by and said hi, but I was so busy trying to catch up with summer activities I didn’t see the note until now. OH! I wish I had found them months ago… I could be enjoying penguin fun for days. These are the cutest darn penguins with so much fun, you just HAVE to go and see them.

When you visit the website for Gus and Waldo you will be able to shop for cute penguin stuff, view their fun penguin art gallery, play a couple of adorable penguin games and even join their penguinaholics (anonymous of course) club.
I was playing with Gus and Waldo with a friend of mine and when we dressed Gus up as spiderman, my friend laughed hysterically!
Gus and Waldo are definitely on my list of favorite penguins.
