The Penguin Lover
This is one place I haven’t been that I really would like to go, SeaWorld. But for now, the penguins at the SeaWorld website will have to do. Loads of great information here and some fantastic photos too. - Plus, you can download the entire Penguin info book, right from their website… yay!

The Penguin Lover
I just discovered an indie band (yes, music, not penguin related) and their debute album is called The Penguin League. Their music is fun to listen to - reminds me of a 70’s movie scene — a big field of daisies with a girl in white skirt twirling in the sunshine until she falls from dizziness and laughter. The style is completely not what I expected from the name, actually I’m not sure what I was expecting - but it caught me by surprise. I do, however, think the sound is quite fitting for our penguin pals - happy and inviting.

Go visit Antarctica Takes It! on MySpace, listen to 3 of their songs, read some tid bits and check out their photos. You can also find our more about purchasing their album - neat stuff I say.

The Penguin Lover
I was feeling a bit hungry, so I thought I’d hunt down some penguin snacks. Instead, I found 3 pages of penguin crafts, poems, and a whole lot more at Step by Step.

The snack I was checking out is found on page 3 under “in the kitchen”.
——
Penguin Snack
Need: 2 slice of bread per child cream cheese, raisins, butter knife, carrot wedge, spread cream cheese over top.
Directions: Spread cream cheese in the center of one piece of bread. Use raisins for the eyes, wedge of carrot for beak. Cut the second piece of bread in half diagonally for the penguin’s wings.
——
If anyone makes this treat, I’d love a photo of the yumminess!
Happy munching.
