Here’s a penguin site I haven’t seen before, and it’s packed full of fantastic information specific to the penguins in New Zealand.

You can learn about the penguin species specific to the area including pictures and habitate info as well as maps of their nesting grounds. You can also learn about conservation of penguins, games webcams and a whole slew of useful information and penguin resources.

Phillip Island Nature Parks is an island adventure about 90 minutes from Melbourne in Australia. Each night at sunset, the Little Penguins, the smallest of the penguins, emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows. This “attraction” is the winner of the Victorian Tourism Awards for Ecotourism.

I ran across this cute cartoon located on someone else’s site. Pokey the Penguin, “Non-sequitur comic about Pokey and other penguins, with minimalist computer art.”. I was hoping I could add the cartoon here, but now I’m just confused. I couldn’t find any info – but I did find the comic site,  so rather than hurt myself trying to locate the feed… I’m just going to point you in the right direction and you can read until your heart’s content.

Cool Antarctica offers a huge collection of beautiful photography by Paul Ward. As long as you follow the usage guidelines, you’re welcome to use up to 10 of these amazing photos for your own projects. Paul has photos of macaroni penguins, chinstrap penguins, gentoo penguins, and adelie penguins. There are a few other misc photos that include a king penguin and others. this is a great site to browse for visual inspiration!
