The Tennessee is swarming with baby penguins these days. Just within the last 24 hours the Gentoo penguin pair, Peep and Poncho have laid their second egg.
I first discovered this story from my friend wiinterrr over at Gentoo Penguins at O’Higgins Station blog. She posted the “Tennessee Aquarium expecting more penguins“, I read further to find out the aquarium has had a few new penguin additions recently. So, I did a little digging around and found the Tennessee Aquarium on twitter where they announced the second egg was laid today. YAY for more penguins I say.

The aquarium has recently had a Macaroni chick hatch as well. You can see photos of the happy Macaroni penguins on the Tennessee Aquarium’s facebook page. If you snoop around a bit, you’ll also find at the “penguins nesting” photo album.
I visited the Tennessee Aquarium years ago loved it. I have been aching to go back the last year or so… now I know why; there’s penguin chicks waiting for happy hellos. If you are nearby stop by and shout a hello for me, will ya please?
